Could a simple flick of the switch increase deceased donor kidney utilization? Team of researchers from UBC and Providence Health Research Institute, led by John S. Gill explored Kidney Donor Profile Index in this article

 

The Kidney Donor Profile Index (KDPI), derived from the Kidney Donor Risk Index (KDRI), is a more granular and accurate metric of deceased donor kidney allograft longevity compared to the dichotomous extended criteria donor (ECD) and standard criteria donor (SCD) categorization.1 The score ranges from 0% to 100%, and kidneys with higher scores have shorter projected transplant longevity.
