I am a research assistant under the mentorship of Dr. Erin Michalak, founder of the CREST.BD collective in the Department of Psychiatry at UBC Vancouver. My portfolio of work relates to understanding and incorporating EDI considerations within patient-oriented research (POR) in British Columbia through the BC SUPPORT Unit.
Title of Sahil's talk will be "Fostering Diversity and Inclusion in Health Research".
Jagbir Gill

Dr. Gill graduated from Medicine at the University of BC in 2001 and completed his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at UBC in 2006.
Dr. Gill completed a post-doctoral fellowship in kidney transplantation at the University of California, Los Angeles as part of the KRESCENT program and obtained a Masters degree in Public Health from Harvard University. He returned to Vancouver in 2008 and has been on staff at St. Paul’s Hospital since. His primary clinical focus is in renal transplantation and his research interests are in transplant epidemiology and database analyses, examining access to transplantation, expansion of organ donation, and the impact of donor status on post-transplant health outcomes.
Dr. Gill will present his work on the "Bridge to Transplant Initiative – ensuring equitable access to organ transplantation for BC Indigenous populations".
